Blind Anger.

Something in your mind tells you that you need to get angry. Someone does something or says something you don’t like. Maybe it’s something you think is true but it’s something people shouldn’t talk about. It could be insecurity. Whatever makes you angry you’ve got to realise what’s going on in your mind. Say ‘what am I telling myself right now about this situation?’ answer that question and you may find what is making you angry. Now you’ve got to realise that anger is a reaction by choice. No one can make you angry. You as an individual chose to get angry based on what you tell yourself about the situation you’re in. Sometimes you say things that you don’t mean. Anger makes your thought pattern fuzzy. Maybe if you ask questions that require more than a yes or no answer it will give you time to calm down. People will have to explain themselves and while they are doing that you can calm down. Once you’re calm you will be able to focus on what’s important and not spout something nasty. There’s a real sense of pride when you know you can handle your anger. When you are cool headed other people seem crazy when they get angry. You can take a deep breath and know that you’re handling aggression in your life well. A healthy way to channel your negative energies into a positive thing is to work out. You’re there putting all your aggression into some sort of physical work out. After your work out you feel like you’re lighter. You feel ready to take of life’s challenges. Anger blinds you. If you are aware that you are entering a blind rage you can decide to do something about it.

The Change Process.

Your physical condition is everything to you. Your face is hot and red. The cold winter nights seem like mild afternoons. When you’re working up a sweat with parkour you are hot. Everything else disappears. It’s like everything other than parkour is obliterated. This means worries, problems, bills, insecurities or anything that’s on your mind isn’t here. You breathe in and you can feel yourself concentrating. Doubts and fears become distances and trajectories. You know your leg muscles will propel you the eight feet it will take to make this jump. Will you slip? Let’s hope not. Everything has to be in place. You have to be sure. When you’re sure you are ready to put your body into action. Your ears see the movement. Your skin feels what’s around you. Your eyes are focusing on where you need to land. Who cares about your mortgage? Who cares about your relationship problems? You push off and it seems like you’re in the air for ages. You can think anything at this point but it doesn’t matter. Your body is preparing to protect itself. You land with a thud but you can barely believe it. You are lifted, elated to a state of higher thinking. You get giddy and the muscles in your belly contract. Your pace quickens as your smile widens. You are fantastic. By going through something like a scary jump you teach yourself that you’re made of strong material. Someone can insult you now but it doesn’t matter because you are strong. You can laugh off anything now

The Head Injury.

You like to train hard for parkour.
In walks Manc PK, hardcore.
You all shake hands ‘cause boys are down.
You love to train, a different town.
It’s different walls a different place.
A brand new sight and brand new face.
So here you are numbers like troops.
You’re gunna have to split in groups.
So one you pick but you’re not sure.
Should there be less or maybe more?
So on you go and start to walk.
You all share parkour tips and talk.
Your knees are sore they start to sting.
Your mobile number starts to ring.
It’s Shane asking you where you are.
You say with pleasure ‘we’re not far.’
The group is walking through the centre.
See a shop and you all enter.
Waiting like this gets you hating.
Why are peeps procrastinating?
Scowling, moaning, thoughts they flicker.
Surely shopping can be quicker.
Finally you all reach Shane.
But has this walking been in vain?
Let’s make the most of this good weather.
We were two groups let’s stick together.
Round the corner camera rolling.
No more rest and no more strolling.
People watch from a window.
But you’re hyped up and good to go.
You start to jump it’s like a dance.
You say ‘look there’s an audience’
Paul has wit and this he meant
‘Well they might see an accident’
You laugh it off ‘cause troubles far
You eye up a pop underbar
Focusing, your laughter ceases
You’re gunna blow this shit to pieces
You’re body twists your move is neat
But you don’t see the red concrete
You feel the pain you hear a crack,
And there you are sat on your back
Rubbing your head Shane’s frightened tone
‘No don’t do that ‘cause there’s the bone
You stop the rubbing, understood
Your hand is coloured red with blood
It occurred quickly, who knows why?
You realise that you might die
You stand up swiftly, focus last
You need to stop the bleeding fast
So you get scissors cut your vest
It’s no first aid but fuck the rest
Around your head and now you talk
‘Come to the hospital let’s walk’
As each new step makes people cautious
Each step forward leaves you nauseous
‘You’ll soon be there so hang in there’
But you just smile with vacant stare
The hospital’s got waiting rooms
So Woody waits his camera zooms
They call you in ask what you did
You’re like ‘oh, I just chased this kid’
‘As I got near the bastard fled’
‘And that’s were I fell, banged my head’
She’s nice as she gets out the glue
‘These silly things that people do!’
You sit and contemplate, oh damn
What a great end to today’s jam
The glue it sticks and out you go
But people left so number’s low
You explain matters back in town
You force a grin and do not frown
Jin says ‘when are you next training’
‘Thursday night if it’s not training’
What did you learn from this mistake?
Don’t fall on concrete things can break.
